It is the process of cleaning up a loved one's headstone with the goal of preserving the stone for as long as possible. It also helps keep the integrity of the stone intact by removing debris and biological growth.
Depending on the severity of biological growth and coverage, most headstones and monuments can be cleaned with water and a soft bristle brush. Those that need more growth removed get treated with a biological cleaner called D2. It is made specifically for headstone cleaning and is tested and proven to work with no damage caused.
All types. Headstones are made out of limestone, sandstone, slate, marble, granite and concrete. We also have the ability to clean Bronze headstones and Plaques.
There are a few steps to our process. First, we require permission from the descendants of the deceased loved ones in order to clean them. Second, while at the site we will inspect the monument or headstone and make sure it is stable enough to work on and that there is no damage. Third, we do a full cleaning and at the end we will write up a report of everything performed.
